What I miss from home
These days, all of us have been a little sentimental, we miss home sometimes and wish we were there, but at the same time, we know we wont forget this experience. The feeling that a home gives, is one that absolutely nothing can replace, not even the biggest house with every comfort. It gives you a mixture of positve feelings , such as security, love and memories. When you are home, and by home I mean the daily structure of the normal day (In our case, Bogota) we go to school and follow the daily routine we have followed all of our life. When I was in school, I used to think how boring my life was, or how many other things I could be doing in that moment, but one of the things I have learned in this trip, (which my mom pointed it out recently), is that routine is very important to us, because we feel safe following it.
I feel “Home” when I’m in school and have nothing to worry about but my grades, and I cant believe it but I actually miss having specific homework that I know if I finish it, i’m free from stress. But in this trip, we have some worksheets and its been kind of hard to do them without a teacher (but we’ll manage).
I this trip, we have travelled in comfort, but still, it is very hard to be away form home and sometimes I wish I was in bed reading and the next day it would be a normal day at school where I’d play soccer and go to class with my friends. But I am very glad that I learned that this home-like routine is very important to all of us and we are looking forward to get back to it.
